It’s a good time to buy a TV. At the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) this past January, brands showed off their newest wares. Samsung’s newly announced TVs are due to hit stores in mid-March (the “c” or third version of their current LCD lineup). As a result, there will be clearance specials on last year’s models. Keep an eye out on your favorite web sites and stores for price drops over the next few weeks. This week’s Best Buy Sunday ad already had a few. Incidentally, Best Buy also had the Harmony 700 remote control on sale for $119 (see previous post). See you at Best Buy this afternoon and please remember not to buy your HDMI cable there!
Update: Just returned from Best Buy and there were some great clearance deals listed below. For those anti-Best Buy folks, there are comparable deals on Amazon. I also purchased the Harmony 700 remote. Report to follow.
Update 2: Amazon actually has a lower price on the Samsung LCDs but you need to go all the way to the checkout to see them!
- Samsung 52″ 750 Series LCD $1799 ($1699 on Amazon)
- LG BD-390 Blu-ray Player $239 at Best Buy
- LG 47″ LCD 47LH90 $1499 (same). I have not seen this set before but I was very impressed with it’s picture. It’s an LED set with local dimming which shows accurate black levels.
