After enduring a drawn out season of Torchwood: Miracle Day and with Doctor Who season six wrapping up, what else is there to watch? I’m enjoying Sons of Anarchy season 4, but what other first run shows are out there to enjoy? Game of Thrones, our other favorite, isn’t returning until April 2012. Mad Men is also on hiatus until 2012. What’s left? ZOMBIES! AMC’s The Walking Dead returns on October 16th. Last time we saw our heroes, things went from bad to worse unless you’re a zombie. And what was whispered to the Sheriff at the CDC in the finale?

The Walking Dead will premiere on AMC on Sunday, October 16th at 8 PM Eastern / 9 PM Central. In the meantime, AMC has put together some webisodes to provide some season 2 backstory. We’ve placed the season 2 preview below. Besides setting your TiVo, you can catch the series via Amazon or iTunes for purchase.

Update: It was announced today that season one of The Walking Dead will be on Netflix streaming shortly. Apparently, it will be exclusive to Netflix. It’s not available at this moment but we’ll let you know when it’s available.
Update 2: It’s now available on Netflix!

Update 3: For information on the premiere of the second half of season 2 in February 2012 and other winter TV tips, click here.

Update (10/1/2012 ): Season 2 of the Walking Dead is now available on Netflix streaming! Just in time to get you up to speed before season 3 premieres shortly.

Do we know if Season 2 will be on Netflix each week? I know some shows they get within a couple of days of the first air (such as some of the Disney Channel shows). Would be awesome to get this that way.

Unlikely. Netflix doesn't comment on when content like this will become available. We'll probably won't see Season 2 on Netflix for some time.

That is what I figured. Will keep with the season 1 path I followed. iTunes season pass.

Was wondering the same thing like they did with heroes.  But the multi-year agreament AMC made with netflix said seasons would be posted just prior to following seasons premeire. I know i hope they do it anyways to.
